Is A Chromebook Right For You?

Chromebooks have fully taken over my computing life. I've used them reliably for a decade. They keep getting better, less expensive more powerful and easier to use. Can you go all Chromebook too?

Apple or Windows? Talk about limiting us with a stark binary option. That was our only computing choice for years and years. Remember those playful Mac VS Windows TV ads with Justin Long and John Hodgman? I’m A Mac. I’m A PC. I’m A Third Option.

But wait… there wasn’t a third option, was there? There were only two wacky guys comparing their hardware. And then it all changed…

Enter The Chromebook…. Cue Bruce Lee Scream!!!

Now, you can still always plunk down big money for an Apple computer, comparable dough for a full featured Windows machine, however, you’ll usually get a powerful and even stylish Chromebook for a fraction of the cost of those old war horse veterans of computing. Yes, there are differences - and a Chromebook won’t do everything the juicy bitten fruit or Gates gear will do, yet the things they do get done coupled with the speed and low cost make them an ever more attractive option for the casual computer guy to even the most uncompromising power user.

Chromebook Pros

  • Price - Cheap - Though Premium Ones Can Be Pricey

  • Powerful & Fast - The OS is incredibly efficient

  • Easy To Use - Out Of The Box Functionality

  • Silent - No Fans

  • Invisible Virus Protection & Updates

Chromebook Cons

  • Display/Screen Lower Resolution

  • Can’t Run Standard Programs

  • Not So Great With Games

C’mon my present or potential future Chrome Domes - let’s talk all about using Chromebooks and see what all the digital fuss is about.
