The Toxic Avenger is a great, fun character from Troma Entertainment, but this isn’t about the adventures of the avenging Toxie. I love The Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons, played by Hank Azaria, but we’re not expressly going to play in his enormous sandbox of bitter regrets.

We’re going real. We’ll discuss that enormously hateful, toxic breed which seeks to take out all the fun from our sci-fi, comic books and anything else they think they control. These real life Comic Book Guys feel their opinion is the only one which matters and you can just go watch Downton Abbey or The Waltons. They know all the secrets, all the real prequels and sequels, and if that material doesn’t measure up to their standards, their temper tantrums become nuclear.
