Very cool! Alas, I never even got to work on a Star Trek game (much less a screenplay!) although I worked on the Aliens franchise in a small role.

Stay wonderful!

Chris.

Aliens? We definitely need to talk about that! 🖖

It's actually not very exciting to talk about, unfortunately. My team performs design audits on dozens of games each year, but we're often on these projects for only two weeks at a time, and that was the case for this one. We do work long-term on some projects... but this wasn't one of them. 🙂

Well, it's a nice mention at least. Didja like Alien: Romulus? The Star Trek sounding ALIEN movie? 😁

Haven't seen it yet. I swore off franchise sequel movies a while back (after Marvel Studios broke my will to live), and although I sometimes bend the rules on this, the closest I've got to this movie so far is that I considered it for an in flight movie... before deciding that I might need to sleep, and that might not be conducive to that goal! 😂

It's not bad. It's just 'OK' - has moments, but I didn't love it. It's more or less a rehash of previous Alien movies - so not surprising, but just not compelling. It's just another 'franchise marches on' entry. The production design is wonderful - probably the best selling point.

Well I do like good production design! I think the trouble that Aliens has as a franchise is that Alien was a clever twist on the haunted house, and Aliens made the essentials of the original premise work as a war film. But after that, everything attempted afterwards inevitably retreads one or other of those set ups. Perhaps this is inevitable because this is, after all, a monster franchise (like Godzilla and King Kong).
