What are you!? I’m Batman.
It is one of my favorite dialogue exchanges from one of my favorite Batman movies. Released in 1989, starring Michael Keaton as the legendary Batman and directed by Tim Burton, Batman has it all - a gleefully over the top Jack Nicholson as the Joker, the inquiring mind of Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale and Michael Gough as the always there, classy manservant, Alfred.
Keaton’s first foray into the cape and cowl isn’t my all time favorite batflick - that’s Batman Returns - however, this newest, crime busting tale of terror is slowly creeping up my favorites list.
Why? Lots of reasons. Without going into a lengthy review, this one flew from the batcave to entice me to become an instant classic in my eyes. Overall, unlike most of the rest, this one is a genuine chiller. It could easily qualify as a horror movie - certainly as a dark thriller. C’mon. Let’s talk batty infused thrills and chills.
