Sci-Fi Podcast: 'Earth: Final Conflict' - Gene Roddenberry's Best Show After 'Star Trek'

Gene Roddenberry's Sci-Fi Gift Isn't Only Star Trek
3

Star Trek is the gift its creator keeps on giving the world. It may always be Gene Roddenberry’s greatest sci-fi gift to us, however, there is another - Earth: Final Conflict.

This sci-fi epic premiered in 1997 and ran for five seasons until 2002. Starring Kevin Kilner, Lisa Howard, Von Flores, Leni Parker and Robert Michael Leeshock, the show posed the question: What happens to our little unassuming planet if advanced aliens came down and proceeded to change the very foundations of our Earth culture?

Showcasing eye popping special FX and high tech, alien designs in ship propulsion and gear - which still pretty much dazzle - Gene Roddenberry’s scripts and notes were employed to develop this impressive sci-fi romp. If you love science fiction and think Star Trek is one of the great storytelling vehicles ever produced, you’ll probably appreciate the futuristic grandeur of Earth: Final Conflict. I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the most popular actresses who starred in the show, Leni Parker, as the alien companion, Da’an. C’mon. Let’s talk about it.
