I Pitched To 'Star Trek Voyager' In Hollywood At Paramount Pictures

After writing for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, I landed a pitch meeting at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood for Star Trek: Voyager. The Kate Mulgrew led show - starring as Captain Kathryn Janeway - was the 3rd spin-off from Gene Roddenberry’s original series and also the flagship program for the newly minted United Paramount Network aka UPN. The network or netlet didn’t last all that long. It’s but a dim fading memory to even the most loyal viewers, but the galaxy spanning adventures of Janeway’s Starfleet vessel still resonate on today.
Co-creator and then showrunner, Jeri Taylor, was awesome during my pitch session. She had written for other beloved classics such as Little House On The Prairie and Jake And The Fatman. Here's a taste of that great moment - my first in person Hollywood meeting.
