I know... Sigh...... We're all responsible aren't we. And as I said, I love so much of it as well, so I'm right there in the thick of it. As a writer/creator, I'm working on original stuff, but it's just so hard to get the new stuff noticed.
Aye, and even harder today than ever before. There is a glut of content, yet few channels that are open to interesting approaches. I fear the media industries have learned all too well the lesson that marketing spend is a bigger determinant in success than anything else. They have forgotten that even if that is the case, creativity makes every dollar spent on marketing go so much further.
Other than refusing to patronise lazy franchise farming with our own money (which I do), what else could we possibly do to resist this...?
