The Juilliard Trained Actor Was A Box Office Mainstay In The 1980's and 1990's. One Of His First Starring Roles In 'Real Genius' Delights As One Of His Best
Val Kilmer dies at the age of 65.
Kilmer was a true icon of 80's and 90's cinema, dazzling audiences in such blockbusters as Top Gun with Tom Cruise, and The Doors, directed by Oliver Stone, playing the legendary rocker Jim Morrison. He even put on the comic book cape and cowl, when in 1995, he played Gotham City’s protector, Batman, in director Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever.
One little movie properly showcases Val Kilmer's enormous talent and fun, electric energy - Real Genius. Released in 1985, the sci-fi comedy is often overlooked alongside Kilmer’s big budget blockbusters. The film celebrates college life, technology, geeks, nerds and that rare gift of insight and creativity which only few people possess or can offer up to significantly change the world. Let's come together to tribute this fantastically creative artist.
