The Androids Are Coming... The Androids Are Here! 🤖
Robot Helpers And Android Companions Are No Longer Flights Of Science Fiction Constructs. Our Real World Will Soon Have These Once Sci-Fi Marvels
The Androids Are Coming... The Androids Are Here. 🤖
Just a short time ago - in raw temporal calculations - it was considered fanciful science fiction to contemplate owning a robotic companion. Sci-Fi pop culture juggernauts such as The Jetsons, Lost In Space and Star Trek featured Rosie the Robot, B9 and Starfleet officer Data helping humanity with our exploration, chores and protecting us in dangerous situations.
Danger, Danger Will Robinson! What’s that, Robot? Was B9 trying to tell us something even back then?
Buck Rogers employed his little sarcastic robot, Twiki, to help out with his wild space adventures, while R2D2 and C3PO always acted as Luke Skywalker's dependable assistants to save that galaxy far, far away.
It was fun, sci-fi entertainment found in comic books, novels, film and television. The actual real world concept of the common person owning and operating an actual robot - not simply a toy - seemed far off...
Not anymore.
You won't need a time machine to get a household bot or android working for you. Not only have several companies - including Chinese and Polish based tech giants - already created humanoid robots, but here in the USA, Tesla creator and DOGE guru Elon Musk promises a working, affordable model called Optimus within about five years. So, what can we expect from this Transformer (Optimus Prime) named bot?
According to Mr. Musk, Optimus will shop for you, clean up your mess, walk and feed your dog, play games and even cook your omelets. I love my eggs Western style, Optimus, so don’t forget the green peppers, onions and BBQ sauce.
It's safe to say Optimus type robotic helpers will become part of the extended human family - far more than your car, computer or other devices. Elon Musk thinks more people will buy his Optimus robot than his Tesla automobile. It'll walk, talk and interact intelligently. It will be mobile AI. How will we cope with such future tech finally operating in our lives?
Are you excited to have a robotic servant or an android companion? Are you upset by this technology? When robot helpers are pervasive in our daily lives, it will surely change our society - for better or worse. R2D2 or Terminator.
How will you react to the certain coming of the robots?
