Star Trek: The Next Generation and creator Gene Roddenberry gave to us Wesley Crusher as played by Wil Wheaton in 1987. Son to Dr. Beverly Crusher, Gates McFadden, and serving aboard Captain Picard's (Patrick Stewart) USS Enterprise, Trekkers didn't exactly warm up to the highly intelligent character. In fact, Wesley Crusher, the super boy cosmic genius, became one of the most disliked characters in all of the Star Trek universe. And considering how many characters we have to play with and root for or dislike, that’s saying quite a lot.
