Star Trek's Stephen Collins - The Confessions Which Ended His Career
Stephen Collins Played Will Decker In The First Star Trek Motion Picture Released in 1979. His Impressive Career Ended After A Sexual Scandal Broke
In 1979, Star Trek: The Motion Picture brought back the 1966 TV cast with Captain Kirk, Spock, Bones, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu boarding a newly refurbished USS Enterprise. We also got Willard Decker played by Stephen Collins. Trekkers mostly loved the Robert Wise directed film. The film proved a big hit and many sequels followed.
Stephen Collins acting as the Will Decker character was phased out of Star Trek fictional reality, but Collins as an actor soared to new celebratory heights. For 11 seasons, he starred in the smash hit TV show, 7th Heaven, playing a Pastor of a religious loving family. The popular drama even introduced Jessica Biel to the public. But a sex scandal ultimately dimmed Collins’ starlight.
While Collins was married to actress Faye Grant, audio recordings of a revealing therapy session leaked to TMZ. It was through these recordings that we learned Stephen Collins had acted inappropriately with several minors and he confessed to his inappropriate conduct.
