Classic Star Trek and Mister Spock as played by Leonard Nimoy is a well known pop culture iconic look. You’d not be wrong to say he’s a globally recognized character. From his pointy Vulcan eyebrows, sterling logic and sharply pointed ears to his yellowish green skin, everyone knows Captain Kirk's USS Enterprise First Officer. Turns out, originally in 1966, Gene Roddenberry felt Spock should be a Martian and have bright red skin.
Yup, no Vulcan, thank you very much, but an emerald red Martian Mister Spock. And, yes, it nearly happened!
