'Star Trek: Voyager' Episodes 'Threshold', 'Tuvix' And 'The Fly' Movies Parallels Of Sci-Fi Horror
'The Fly' From 1958 And its 1986 Remake Are Iconic Sci-Fi Horror Films. Star Trek: Voyager Boasts Two Episodes With Parallels To Both Movies
Star Trek: Voyager boasts two episodes which have parallels to the popular sci-fi horror films, The Fly 1958 and director David Cronenberg's remake The Fly 1986. The Star Trek installments of'Threshold' and 'Tuvix' both deal in gruesome body horror and the transformation of Starfleet crew into horrible mutations - Tom Paris, Captain Janeway, Tuvok and Neelix.
Although many fans dislike or even hate Threshold, its creepy body horror is one of the weirdest in all of the Star Trek universe. While Tuvix remains a challenging moral or even philosophical exercise on just whose life is it anyway and if Janeway ultimately makes the right decision in the end.
Let's talk about Warp Factor 10, infinite speed and how Tom Paris kidnaps Captain Janeway to make a litter of salamander babies after he evolves into a far future life form.
