Star Trek Meets Real SETI Science In "Future's End"
Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence Is A Real Science Project Which Meets Sci-Fi In Captain Janeway's Starfleet Starship Voyager On Star Trek
Star Trek deals mightily in science fiction. Sometimes it may go over the narrative top and become more of an action oriented space opera. However, Gene Roddenberry’s creation relies on science to get things right or at least believable for its demanding fans also known affectionately as Trekkers.
And sometimes Star Trek even meets real hard science protocols and practices.
With Captain Janeway's (Kate Mulgrew) Starship, Voyager, her Starfleet crew is forced to travel back in time to 1996. Appearing over Earth in that primitive era, they’re soon hailed by none other than Sarah Silverman - working for Ed Begley Jr aka tech titan Henry Starling - using SETI Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence greeting.
After that fateful encounter, things get really interesting.
