She was a great writer and showrunner and, to me, a cherished mentor. Like any complex TV show Star Trek depends immeasurably on its in-house staff of creative writers and producers for shaping the series artistic vision. One of the most prolific and respected writers/producers from the The Next Generation era is Jeri Taylor.

Sometimes one meeting can help guide you along just a little more in life.

Jeri passed away last month. I had the great pleasure and honor of having my first Hollywood pitch session with Jeri in her office at the studio. Here is my tribute to this wonderfully talented lady whom I met with when I had my meeting with her at Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles during the first season of UPN’s Star Trek: Voyager in 1995.
