Yesterday, Saturday Night Live gave SNL fans a passionate love letter with its 50 Anniversary Celebration. Producer Lorne Michaels has carefully overseen the unique show now for decades. His creative mastery of the comedy, stars, music and everything else about the program is clearly still powerful.

Over the weekend, the NBC produced 30 Rockefeller Plaza based variety comedy show invited back dozens of A-list cast members, famous hosts and legendary musical artists such as Paul Simon and Paul McCartney to mark the show as being as special as it is.
