'Jaws' We Need More Movies Like The 1975 Steven Spielberg Universal Blockbuster
Peter Benchley Wrote His 1974 Novel Jaws & In 1975, Director Steven Spielberg Turned It Into One Of The Great Film Experiences Of All Time
You’re gonna need a bigger boat. Chief Martin Brody - Jaws
Jaws swam and savagely bit its way into our petrified hearts during the summer of 1975. Based on author Peter Benchley’s novel and directed by Steven Spielberg, the Universal film became the most profitable film to be released at the time, and went on to spawn an iconic movie franchise which is still loved today..
What's most amazing - compared with these days - Universal producers David Brown and Richard D. Zanuck purchased the film rights before Benchley's novel was even published. This is pretty much unheard of now, as we keep getting franchise movies over and over again such as Marvel MCU, DCU, Star Wars or Star Trek movies. Jaws remains an inspiring example of why studios need to start taking chances again on unknown material.
Let's talk Jaws, this historic Hollywood blockbuster example of how taking a risk can really pay off big for both film studios and their audiences.
