Is Star Trek's Borg Collective Pure Evil?
Star Trek: The Next Generation Created The Borg - A Rampaging Cybernetic Race Who Pursues Perfection. Many Think The Way They Go About Attaining That Goal Is Pure Evil.
Resistance Is Futile - The Borg
Star Trek gave us the wonderfully creepy cybernetic villains known as The Borg Collective. First seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation, showcased in the episode, Q-Who, this frightening though infinitely fascinating alien race appears in all the sequel spin-off series and in the 1996 hit feature film, Star Trek: First Contact. The zombie-like Borg may be the most popular alien race next to the honor bound Klingons or the sneaky Romulans.
Trekkers debate the strategies and ultimate motives of The Borg. But ultimately can human conceived concepts such as good and evil apply to this ancient, alien race?
Let's talk about these gloriously engaging cyborgs, Captain Jean-Luc Picard being transformed and assimilated into Locutus and the Borg Queen (Alice Krige) herself as we discuss those high concept philosophies of the Borg collective being known to most Star Trek fans as pure evil.
