Hollywood Actors Weight Gain & Loss For Movies & TV
From Wayne Knight & Kevin James Losing It To Jared Leto & Vincent Donofrio Gaining Big For Movie & TV Roles, Hollywood Is Like A National Weight Clinic
“Hollywood is the most flourishing factory of popular mythology since the Greeks." -Alistair Cooke
Oh, heck yes. Ain’t it the truth, Alistair.
Shiny, sparkling stars dance merrily amid an ever brilliant focused limelight to fill our beloved films with uniquely crafted joy. One really big show… *Ed Sullivan Voice*.
Fade In: Hollywood is one REALLY BIG dream factory of an industry town.
And yeah, we know it’s all basically bullshit, but dearly love it anyway. Honestly, we actually love it because it’s steamy, dreamy fantasy laden BS. And those Botox injected beauties, nip tuck tweaked babies and now Ozempic slimmed down Divas and Divos bring us all flocking happily to the box office.
Tinseltown loves serving up slim to perfectly sculpted actors, runway refugees who befuddle and bedazzle us all with their gym bunny physiques. Of course, from time to time, definite exceptions to the Vogue & Playgirl recruited cinematic army prance up on the silver screen.
Sometimes, although still uncommon, La-La Land wants actors FAT. Not just stocky, chubby or pleasingly plump, down and out FLUFFY FAT.
Weight gaining for an actor to adhere to film role requirements isn't common, though still not absolutely rare. Actors such as Robert De Niro in Raging Bull or Vincent D'Onofrio in legendary director Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam war epic Full Metal Jacket are just a few noted performers who bulked up and ate big to attain a desired weight goal, often for an unforgettable performance.
