Ghosts and Christmas? Yes, Virginia, there are ghosts on Christmas. It’s a beloved tradition and it is the way many of us celebrate the holiday. Santa Claus may get more PR value, and shopping mall photo time with the kiddies, but Charles Dickens crafted a ghost story starring Ebenezer Scrooge which is with us for all time.
We’ve read the story for generations. Hollywood has produced dozens of filmed versions of the legendary holiday tale. For most, it’s an unparalleled yarn of redemption and hope. For many more, it fully encapsulates Christmas and the holiday season spirit. For me, and many like me, it’s the best, most satisfying ghost story of all time. C’mon. Let’s talk about it.
